These easy mummy hot dogs are wrapped in crescent dough and baked until golden, making a fun and quick Halloween snack or weeknight dinner that kids and adults love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 standard-size hot dogs
  • 1 can (8-count) crescent roll dough
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • Optional: cooking spray or melted butter for brushing
  • Optional: everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds
  • Optional: cheese slices or cheese sticks

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles along the perforated lines.
  3. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice each triangle lengthwise into 3-4 thin strips (about ½-inch wide).
  4. Take one hot dog and wrap a dough strip around it, leaving a 1-inch gap near the top for the face. Overlap strips slightly and don’t wrap too tightly.
  5. Place wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each.
  6. Optional: Brush tops with melted butter or egg wash for a golden crust.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until dough is golden brown and puffed.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes. Use a toothpick or knife tip to dab small dots of mustard on the unwrapped section for eyes.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, let hot dogs sit at room temperature for 5 minutes before wrapping. Don’t overwork the dough. If strips break, press them back together. Add mustard eyes after cooling slightly to prevent melting.
