This Spooky Witch’s Brew Halloween Punch is a quick and easy party drink with a spooky green color and bubbling effect. Made with pineapple juice, limeade, ginger ale, and lime sherbet, it’s a crowd-pleasing, non-alcoholic treat perfect for Halloween gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups pineapple juice (unsweetened)
  • 2 cups limeade concentrate, thawed
  • 1 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed (about 45 lemons)
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1 liter ginger ale, chilled
  • 1 quart lime sherbet
  • Optional: 1 small block dry ice
  • Green food coloring (gel preferred)
  • Plastic spider rings or gummy worms (for garnish)
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
  • Lime slices (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the punch base (5 minutes): In a large pitcher, combine the pineapple juice, thawed limeade concentrate, lemon juice, orange juice, and cold water. Stir well until the limeade concentrate is fully dissolved. Taste and adjust if needed.
  2. Chill the base (at least 2 hours, or overnight): Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. For best results, make the base the night before.
  3. Prepare the punch bowl (5 minutes): Just before serving, add a few drops of green food coloring to the bottom of the punch bowl. Swirl to coat.
  4. Add the chilled base (2 minutes): Pour the chilled punch base into the bowl over the food coloring. Stir gently to combine. Adjust color if needed.
  5. Add the ginger ale (1 minute): Slowly pour the chilled ginger ale down the side of the bowl to preserve carbonation. Stir gently with a ladle.
  6. Add the sherbet (2 minutes): Using an ice cream scoop, add dollops of lime sherbet to the punch. Add about half the carton initially, then more as served.
  7. Add garnishes (2 minutes): Scatter plastic spider rings, gummy worms, or fresh mint leaves on top. Float lime slices around the edges. If using dry ice, add it now with safety precautions.
  8. Serve immediately: Ladle into cups, ensuring each serving gets some sherbet and garnish. Best enjoyed within the first hour.

Notes

Temperature is key: chill the base and ginger ale thoroughly. Do not over-stir the ginger ale to preserve fizz. For dry ice safety, never touch with bare hands; place in a small heat-safe bowl inside the punch bowl. To keep punch cold without diluting, freeze some of the punch base into ice cubes. The punch base can be made up to 24 hours ahead; add ginger ale and sherbet just before serving.
