A dramatic Halloween punch that creates a spooky dry ice fog effect, combining pineapple, lime, and lemon-lime soda for a sweet and tart flavor that’s perfect for parties.

  • 4 cups (960 ml) unsweetened pineapple juice
  • 4 cups (960 ml) lemon-lime soda (e.g., Sprite or 7-Up)
  • 1 can (12 oz / 355 ml) limeade concentrate, thawed
  • 5–8 drops green food coloring (gel preferred)
  • 2 cups (about 4 scoops) lime sherbet, slightly softened
  • 2–3 pounds (about 1 kg) dry ice
  • 1 cup (240 ml) warm water (not hot)
  • Optional: gummy worms, plastic spiders or eyeballs, orange slices or lime wheels for garnish

Instructions

  1. Put on insulated gloves or use kitchen tongs to handle dry ice. Break it into small chunks (about golf ball size) and place in a small bowl or plate. Never seal dry ice in an airtight container.
  2. In a large punch bowl, combine pineapple juice and thawed limeade concentrate. Stir gently until dissolved.
  3. Slowly add lemon-lime soda to preserve fizz. Stir in green food coloring one drop at a time until desired shade (about 6-7 drops).
  4. Scoop lime sherbet into the punch bowl and let it float on top without stirring.
  5. Right before serving, use tongs to drop a few chunks of dry ice into the punch bowl. Pour about 1 cup of warm water over the dry ice to create fog.
  6. Add optional garnishes like gummy worms, plastic spiders, or citrus slices.
  7. Ladle punch into cups, ensuring no dry ice chunks are scooped up. Serve immediately. Refresh fog every 20-30 minutes with more dry ice and warm water.

Notes

Never consume dry ice. Keep dry ice in a paper bag or cooler with lid cracked open. Add dry ice in batches for continuous fog. Chill punch base ingredients overnight for best results. Test food coloring beforehand to avoid murky color. Store extra dry ice in a cooler with lid slightly open.
