A quick and easy Halloween punch that glows an eerie blue under a blacklight, made with tonic water, pineapple juice, and lemon-lime soda. Perfect for last-minute parties and guaranteed to impress guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups pineapple juice (chilled)
  • 2 cups clear lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7-Up), chilled
  • 2 cups tonic water (chilled)
  • 1 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed if possible)
  • 1 liter tonic water (extra, for ice cubes)
  • 1 blacklight bulb or blacklight flashlight
  • 1 cup frozen clementine slices or orange wheels
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 12 cups dry ice (optional, for bubbling cauldron effect)
  • Fresh mint sprigs (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Freeze the tonic water ice cubes: Pour the extra liter of tonic water into ice cube trays. Freeze for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  2. Chill all your liquids: Put the pineapple juice, lemon-lime soda, tonic water, and orange juice in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving.
  3. Prepare the frozen fruit: Slice clementines into thin wheels and freeze them on a baking sheet for about 2 hours. Same with the pineapple chunks.
  4. Mix the punch base: In a large pitcher, combine the chilled pineapple juice, lemon-lime soda, tonic water, and orange juice. Stir gently.
  5. Set up the blacklight: Position your blacklight bulb or flashlight so it shines directly into the punch bowl. Dim the overhead lights for the full effect.
  6. Assemble the punch bowl: Pour the mixed punch into your bowl. Add the tonic water ice cubes and frozen fruit. Stir gently.
  7. Add dry ice (optional, for adults only): Using tongs, carefully add small chunks of dry ice to the punch. Wait until the dry ice has fully sublimated before serving.
  8. Serve and watch the magic: Dim the lights, turn on the blacklight, and ladle into cups, making sure each serving gets some tonic water ice cubes and frozen fruit.

Notes

For the best glow, use premium tonic water like Schweppes or Fever-Tree. Test your tonic water under the blacklight before the party. For a kid-friendly version, skip the dry ice. The glow effect is strongest for the first hour; keep extra tonic water ice cubes in the freezer to add later.
