A vibrant and easy-to-assemble patriotic charcuterie board featuring fresh summer fruits, sharp cheeses, cured meats, and crunchy elements, perfect for summer parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Strawberries, hulled and halved
  • Blueberries, washed and dried
  • Watermelon, sliced into bite-sized triangles (seedless preferred)
  • Red grapes, halved if large
  • Sharp cheddar, sliced thinly
  • Fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini), drained
  • Goat cheese log, sliced (optional)
  • Thinly sliced salami or pepperoni
  • Prosciutto, loosely folded
  • Mixed nuts (roasted almonds or pecans)
  • Crackers or toasted baguette slices
  • Fresh basil or mint leaves
  • Honey or balsamic glaze (optional)
  • Olives or pickles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash all fruits thoroughly. Hull and halve the strawberries, halve larger grapes, and slice watermelon into bite-sized triangles. Dry berries and grapes with a paper towel to avoid excess moisture.
  2. Cut sharp cheddar into thin slices or small cubes. Drain mozzarella balls and slice goat cheese log into rounds if using. Fold prosciutto loosely into ribbons and arrange salami slices in small stacks.
  3. Place mixed nuts in a small bowl or scatter loosely on the board. Toast baguette slices if desired and arrange crackers around the edges.
  4. Start by placing the cheeses spaced evenly across the board. Add clusters of fruits next to cheeses in groups for pops of color. Tuck cured meats in between for a layered effect. Fill in gaps with nuts, crackers, and olives or pickles if using.
  5. Scatter fresh basil or mint leaves on top for aroma and color. Drizzle honey or balsamic glaze lightly over goat cheese or fruit areas if desired.

Notes

Keep wet fruits like watermelon away from crackers to avoid sogginess. Assemble the board just before serving for best freshness. Use almond flour crackers for gluten-free options and vegan cheese or nut-based spreads for vegan adaptations. Let cheeses breathe at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.
