Ingredients

Scale
  • Red Layer: 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) red gelatin mix (cherry or strawberry flavor)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) vodka or lemon-lime soda for a non-alcoholic version
  • White Layer (Creamy Middle): 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) boiling water
  • 1 cup (240 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) cold water
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) vodka or milk for a non-alcoholic twist
  • Blue Layer: 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) blue gelatin mix (blueberry or berry blue flavor)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) vodka or lemon-lime soda

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Red Layer: In a mixing bowl, pour 1 cup boiling water over the red gelatin powder and whisk until completely dissolved. Stir in 1/2 cup cold water and 1/4 cup vodka or lemon-lime soda. Pour the mixture evenly into shot glasses or molds, filling about one-third of each. Refrigerate for 30–45 minutes or until firm but still slightly tacky.
  2. Make the White Creamy Layer: In a separate bowl, dissolve unflavored gelatin powder in 1/2 cup boiling water. Stir until clear. Add sweetened condensed milk and 1/4 cup cold water, mixing well. Stir in 1/4 cup vodka or milk. Allow mixture to cool to room temperature (about 10 minutes).
  3. Layer the White Mixture: Carefully spoon or pour the white layer over the red layer in each glass, pouring slowly or using the back of a spoon to avoid breaking the red layer. Return to the fridge for another 45 minutes until mostly set.
  4. Prepare the Blue Layer: Dissolve blue gelatin powder in 1 cup boiling water, then add 1/2 cup cold water and 1/4 cup vodka or lemon-lime soda. Let cool to room temperature before gently pouring over the white layer. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until fully set.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Once fully set, garnish with fresh blueberries or a small strawberry slice if desired and serve chilled.

Notes

Timing is key for perfect layers; pour the next layer when the previous is firm but still slightly tacky to avoid mixing colors. Cool each gelatin mixture to room temperature before layering to prevent melting. Use the back of a spoon to pour layers gently. For dairy-free, swap sweetened condensed milk with coconut cream. For non-alcoholic versions, replace vodka with lemon-lime soda or milk.
