Easy Rolo Pretzel Turtles Recipe with Toasted Pecans

Rolo pretzel turtles - featured image

These Rolo pretzel turtles are a quick and easy treat made with just four ingredients: mini pretzels, Rolos, toasted pecans, and flaky sea salt. Perfect for gifting, parties, or a late-night craving, they come together in about 15 minutes and deliver a perfect balance of salty, sweet, and crunchy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 48 mini pretzels (twist-shaped)
  • 48 Rolos (one 11 oz bag)
  • 1 cup pecan halves (about 48 pieces)
  • Flaky sea salt (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Toast the pecans: Place pecan halves in a dry skillet over medium heat. Shake the pan every 30 seconds and toast until fragrant and slightly darker, about 3-5 minutes. Immediately transfer to a plate to cool.
  3. Arrange the pretzels in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about an inch apart.
  4. Unwrap each Rolo and place it flat-side down in the center of each pretzel.
  5. Bake for 3-4 minutes, until the Rolos look shiny and slightly puffed. Do not overbake.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool for 30 seconds. Gently press a toasted pecan half into the center of each melted Rolo.
  7. While the chocolate is still warm, sprinkle a tiny pinch of flaky sea salt over each turtle (optional).
  8. Let the turtles cool completely on the baking sheet for at least 30 minutes, or until the caramel is set. For faster setting, refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Notes

Toasting the pecans is essential for the best flavor. Watch the oven closely—3 minutes is usually perfect. Let the turtles cool completely before moving to prevent the caramel from sticking. For a nut-free version, omit pecans and press a mini marshmallow or chocolate chip into the center. For gluten-free, use certified gluten-free pretzels.
