This Easy One-Pan Honey Garlic Salmon with Asparagus is the kind of recipe that lives in your back pocket for nights when you need dinner to be delicious without being demanding. The honey garlic glaze does all the heavy lifting—it turns sticky and glossy in the oven, coating the salmon in that perfect balance of sweet and savory.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1 bunch asparagus (about 1 pound)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari/coconut aminos for gluten-free)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Position the rack in the middle of the oven.
  2. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Prepare the asparagus: rinse, pat dry, trim woody ends, arrange in a single layer on half the baking sheet, drizzle with 1 tablespoon olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and toss gently.
  4. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and place them skin-side down on the other half of the baking sheet.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, 1 tablespoon olive oil, and optional red pepper flakes until smooth.
  6. Brush the glaze generously over the salmon fillets, reserving about a quarter of the glaze.
  7. Drizzle the reserved glaze over the asparagus and toss to coat evenly.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until salmon flakes easily with a fork and internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C), and asparagus is tender-crisp.
  9. Optional: Broil for 1-2 minutes for extra caramelization, watching closely to prevent burning.
  10. Let rest for 2 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped parsley or green onions.

Notes

Don’t over-marinate the salmon; brush glaze on right before baking. Use a meat thermometer for best results. If asparagus is very thin, add it to the pan 5 minutes after the salmon. For extra glaze, double the glaze ingredients and reserve some for serving.
