These adorable Frankenstein guacamole cups are a quick, easy, and healthy Halloween treat that kids and adults love. Made with creamy guacamole, olive eyes, and pretzel stick bolts, they come together in under 20 minutes and are perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe avocados
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
  • 1/4 cup diced tomato or pico de gallo (optional)
  • 24 black olives, sliced crosswise into rounds
  • 12 pretzel sticks, broken in half
  • Fresh cilantro leaves (for monster hair)
  • Tortilla chips, carrot sticks, or bell pepper strips for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the guacamole base: Cut the avocados in half, remove pits, and scoop flesh into a large mixing bowl. Add softened cream cheese, lime juice, salt, and garlic powder (if using). Mash with a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth but with a few small chunks. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  2. Mix in the extras if desired: Fold in chopped cilantro or diced tomato gently, if using. Set aside.
  3. Prepare the ‘monster parts’: Slice black olives crosswise into rounds (24 slices total). Break pretzel sticks in half (24 pieces). Pick 24-36 small cilantro leaves for hair.
  4. Assemble the cups: Spoon guacamole into 12 small cups (3-ounce size), filling each about three-quarters full. Smooth the top with the back of a spoon. Place two olive slices near the top for eyes. Insert two pretzel stick halves on the sides for neck bolts. Gently press 2-3 cilantro leaves into the top for hair.
  5. Chill until serving: Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to firm up. If making ahead, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of each cup to prevent browning.
  6. Serve and enjoy: Arrange cups on a platter with tortilla chips, carrot sticks, or bell pepper strips for dipping.

Notes

For best results, use avocados that are ripe but still firm. The cream cheese helps prevent browning and adds creaminess. Slice olives just before assembling to prevent drying. For dairy-free, use dairy-free cream cheese or mashed white beans. For gluten-free, use gluten-free pretzels or carrot sticks for bolts. Can be made up to 4 hours ahead if covered and chilled.
