A quick and easy deviled eggs recipe featuring a creamy yolk filling and a crunchy everything bagel seasoning topping, perfect for snacks or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large eggs, hard-boiled and peeled
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons (20 g) everything bagel seasoning
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) panko breadcrumbs (optional but recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 g) butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Place 12 large eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water by about an inch. Bring to a rolling boil over medium-high heat, then cover, remove from heat, and let sit for 10-12 minutes.
  2. Drain and transfer eggs to an ice bath to cool completely (about 5 minutes). Peel the eggs.
  3. Slice the eggs in half lengthwise and gently remove yolks into a mixing bowl.
  4. Mash the yolks with 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, and 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust consistency with more mayo if needed.
  5. Fill each egg white half with the yolk mixture using a spoon or piping bag, mounding slightly for presentation.
  6. In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs, 1 tablespoon melted butter, and 2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning. Toss until evenly coated.
  7. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the filled eggs.
  8. Place the eggs on a baking sheet and broil in the oven on high for 2-3 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning, until the topping is golden and crisp. Alternatively, toast the topping in a skillet over medium heat until crunchy before adding to the eggs.
  9. Serve immediately for maximum crunch or chill leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Add topping just before serving if chilled.

Notes

Older eggs peel easier. Watch the broiler closely to avoid burning the topping. Toast breadcrumbs separately for more control over crispness. Fill and top eggs just before serving for best texture. Variations include adding cayenne, fresh herbs, or Parmesan cheese to the topping.
