  • 3 tablespoons honey (raw or pure)
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnishes: sesame seeds or finely sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Pat the skin-on salmon fillets dry with a paper towel to help the skin crisp up nicely. (5 minutes)
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and minced garlic until combined. Set aside. (3 minutes)
  3. Lightly brush the salmon skin with olive or avocado oil, then sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper. No additional salt needed. (2 minutes)
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not touch. Air fry for 7 minutes until opaque on the sides and flaky but moist inside. (7 minutes)
  6. Carefully flip the salmon fillets (skin side up), brush the top with the honey garlic glaze, and air fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until the glaze is bubbly and caramelized but not burnt. (3 minutes)
  7. Remove the salmon from the air fryer and let it rest for 2 minutes. Garnish with sesame seeds or sliced green onions if desired.

Notes

Pat salmon dry thoroughly to ensure crispy skin. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Preheat the air fryer for best results. Add the glaze only in the last few minutes to prevent burning.
