A quick and easy overnight oats recipe with protein powder and peanut butter that tastes like dessert but keeps you full all morning. Perfect for busy mornings with just 5 minutes of prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup (45g) rolled oats (old-fashioned oats)
  • ½ cup (120ml) milk of choice (e.g., unsweetened almond milk)
  • ¼ cup (60g) plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons (32g) natural peanut butter
  • 1 scoop (about 30g) vanilla or unflavored protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) maple syrup or honey
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) chia seeds (optional)
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Start with your jar or container. Make sure it’s clean and dry.
  2. Add the dry ingredients first: rolled oats, protein powder, chia seeds (if using), and a pinch of salt. Give a quick stir to prevent clumps.
  3. Add the peanut butter on top of the dry ingredients.
  4. Pour in the wet ingredients: milk, Greek yogurt, and maple syrup or honey. Pour milk directly over peanut butter to soften it.
  5. Stir everything together thoroughly until uniform and no dry spots remain. It should look like a thick, tan-colored batter.
  6. Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight (10-12 hours).
  7. In the morning, stir the oats. If too thick, add an extra tablespoon or two of milk.
  8. Add toppings (e.g., extra peanut butter, dark chocolate chips, sliced banana, berries) and enjoy cold, at room temperature, or warmed up.

Notes

For best texture, use rolled oats (not instant or steel-cut). If using plant-based protein powder, add an extra 2 tablespoons of milk. Let the oats sit overnight for optimal creaminess. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
