These cozy mummy hot dogs are a quick and easy Halloween treat made with just hot dogs, crescent roll dough, and mustard. They’re perfect for a spooky movie night or class party, and they come together in under 25 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 standard-sized hot dogs
  • 2 cans (8 rolls each) crescent roll dough
  • Yellow mustard (for the eyes)
  • Optional: Ketchup or ranch for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll your crescent roll dough. Separate it along the perforated lines into triangles. You should have 8 triangles per can. Press the seams gently to smooth them out, but don’t overwork the dough.
  3. Cut each triangle into thin strips. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice each triangle lengthwise into 3-4 strips, depending on how thick you want your mummy wrappings.
  4. Wrap your hot dogs. Take one hot dog and start wrapping a strip of dough around it at a slight angle, leaving small gaps so it looks like mummy bandages. Overlap the strips slightly as you go. Leave a small space near the top for the eyes. Repeat with all 8 hot dogs.
  5. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the baking sheet. Make sure they’re spaced about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and puffed. The hot dogs should be heated through.
  7. Let them cool for 2-3 minutes on the baking sheet.
  8. Add the spooky mustard eyes. Squeeze a small amount of yellow mustard into a small bowl. Dip the tip of a toothpick into the mustard and dab two small dots on each mummy hot dog where you left the gap.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

Don’t wrap the dough too tightly—leave small gaps for the mummy effect. Use a toothpick for precise mustard eyes. For best results, serve warm. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in a 350°F oven for 5-7 minutes.
