A warm and cozy snack featuring pecans roasted with real maple syrup, cinnamon, and a touch of sweetness. Perfect for snacking, gifting, or adding crunch to salads and yogurt.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups raw or unsalted pecan halves (about 200g)
  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter or coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine maple syrup, melted butter or coconut oil, vanilla extract (if using), and brown sugar (optional). Stir until well blended.
  3. Add ground cinnamon and sea salt to the wet mixture and stir until evenly distributed.
  4. Add pecans to the bowl and toss with the syrup and spice mixture until each pecan is evenly coated.
  5. Spread the coated pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, avoiding overcrowding.
  6. Roast pecans for 15-18 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even roasting and prevent burning.
  7. Remove from oven and let pecans cool completely on the baking sheet to crisp up.
  8. Once cooled, transfer pecans to an airtight container for storage.

Notes

Use real pure maple syrup for best flavor. Stir pecans halfway through roasting to prevent burning. Let pecans cool completely on the baking sheet to achieve a crisp texture. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks or refrigerate for longer storage. Optional variations include adding cayenne pepper for spice or drizzling with melted dark chocolate after cooling.
