This easy crockpot peppermint white hot chocolate is the ultimate holiday drink. Set it and forget it for a creamy, minty treat that’s perfect for gatherings or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups whole milk (1.4 liters)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (240 ml)
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips (340 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies (60 grams, plus more for garnish)
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream, marshmallows, additional crushed peppermint, peppermint sticks

Instructions

  1. Lightly spray the inside of a 4-6 quart slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Pour the whole milk and heavy cream into the crockpot and whisk together gently.
  3. Sprinkle the white chocolate chips evenly over the milk mixture. Do not stir yet.
  4. Drizzle in the peppermint extract and vanilla extract.
  5. Stir in the crushed peppermint candies.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 2 hours. Do not cook on high.
  7. After 1 hour, whisk the mixture well to help the white chocolate melt and incorporate the peppermint.
  8. After 2 hours, check consistency. If too thin, cook uncovered for another 30 minutes.
  9. Taste and adjust: add more peppermint extract (1/4 teaspoon) or a pinch of salt if needed.
  10. Ladle into mugs and top with whipped cream, marshmallows, and crushed peppermint. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use low heat only to prevent scorching. For a dairy-free version, substitute oat milk or almond milk and full-fat coconut cream. Add a cinnamon stick for extra warmth. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated on the stovetop or in the crockpot on LOW.
