A quick and easy homemade drink combining juicy watermelon, fresh mint, and lime juice for a light, refreshing beverage perfect for hot days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups seedless watermelon, cubed (about 600 grams)
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 cups cold water (480 ml)
  • 12 tablespoons sweetener (optional: honey, agave syrup, or simple syrup)
  • Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut about 4 cups (600 grams) of seedless watermelon into cubes and remove any seeds.
  2. Place the watermelon cubes and 10-12 fresh mint leaves into a blender. Blend on medium speed for about 30 seconds until smooth but not frothy.
  3. Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large pitcher to remove pulp and seeds, pressing gently with a spoon to extract more juice.
  4. Stir in 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of fresh lime juice. Taste and add 1-2 tablespoons (15-30 ml) of sweetener if desired, mixing until dissolved.
  5. Pour in 2 cups (480 ml) of cold water and stir gently to combine.
  6. Add ice cubes to the pitcher or glasses and serve immediately. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 2 days.

Notes

Use ripe, sweet watermelon for best flavor. Avoid over-blending to prevent foam. Bruise mint leaves slightly before blending for more aroma. Serve immediately or within 48 hours for best taste. Can substitute sparkling water for a fizzy version or add alcohol for a cocktail twist.
