Refreshing Cucumber Mint Gin Fizz Cocktail

Refreshing Cucumber Mint Gin Fizz Cocktail - featured image

A crisp and invigorating summer cocktail combining fresh cucumber, mint, gin, lime juice, and soda water for a bubbly, refreshing drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 45 thin cucumber slices (preferably English cucumber)
  • 810 fresh mint leaves, gently torn or muddled
  • 2 oz (60 ml) gin (London Dry recommended)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 oz (22 ml) simple syrup (homemade or store-bought)
  • 34 oz (90120 ml) soda water (club soda), to top off
  • Ice cubes, plenty
  • Optional garnish: cucumber slices and mint sprigs

Instructions

  1. Wash and thinly slice about 4-5 cucumber slices. Tear 8-10 fresh mint leaves gently to release their oils without shredding them.
  2. In the bottom of your cocktail shaker, add the cucumber slices and mint leaves. Use a muddler or spoon handle to press gently—just enough to release flavor, not to pulverize.
  3. Pour in 2 oz (60 ml) gin, 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice, and 3/4 oz (22 ml) simple syrup.
  4. Fill the shaker with ice cubes, close tightly, and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until cold and lightly frothy.
  5. Using a strainer, pour the cocktail into a tall glass filled with fresh ice to keep mint and cucumber bits out.
  6. Top with about 3 to 4 oz (90-120 ml) soda water. Stir gently to combine without losing the fizz.
  7. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a cucumber slice. Serve immediately.

Notes

Muddle gently to avoid bitterness. Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Shake well with plenty of ice but avoid over-dilution. Add soda water last and stir gently to preserve fizz. Prepare the cucumber-mint-gin mixture ahead but add soda and ice just before serving.
