Fresh Crunchy Ants on a Log Snack

A quick, easy, and healthy kid-friendly snack featuring crisp celery, creamy peanut butter, and chewy raisins, perfect for lunchboxes and parties.

Ingredients

  • Celery stalks, fresh and crisp, washed and cut into 4-5 inch pieces
  • Peanut butter, smooth or chunky, unsweetened or lightly sweetened
  • Raisins, plump and chewy
  • Optional toppings: chia seeds or crushed nuts
  • Optional: honey for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the celery stalks thoroughly. Cut each stalk into 4 to 5-inch pieces (approx. 10-12 pieces per bunch).
  2. Scoop about 1 tablespoon (15g) of peanut butter per celery piece. Spread the peanut butter evenly into the groove of each celery piece using a small spreading knife or spoon.
  3. Place raisins evenly on top, about 8-10 raisins per celery piece, spaced out to look like ants marching.
  4. Optional: sprinkle chia seeds or crushed nuts on top. Drizzle a teaspoon of honey if desired.
  5. Arrange the prepared celery pieces on a serving platter in a neat row or fun zigzag pattern.
  6. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 2 hours to keep celery crisp.

Notes

Use fresh, firm celery for best crunch. Warm peanut butter slightly if too thick for easy spreading. Soak raisins in warm water to plump if dry. Assemble just before serving to keep celery crisp and raisins chewy. Store leftovers wrapped tightly in plastic wrap or airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours, but celery may soften.
