A quick and easy sweet treat combining fresh orange slices with a delicate drizzle of dark or semi-sweet chocolate, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium-sized oranges (navel or blood oranges, seedless if possible)
  • 4 ounces (115 grams) dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips or bar
  • Optional toppings: pinch of sea salt, chopped nuts (pistachios or almonds), shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oranges: Peel the oranges carefully, removing all white pith. Slice into approximately 1/4-inch (6 mm) thick rounds or wedges. Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet or plate.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Place chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 15-20 second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted and smooth. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler on the stove, stirring constantly.
  3. Drizzle the Chocolate: Using a spoon or piping bag, drizzle thin ribbons of melted chocolate evenly over the orange slices.
  4. Optional Toppings: Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt, chopped nuts, or shredded coconut on top immediately after drizzling before the chocolate hardens.
  5. Set the Chocolate: Refrigerate the tray for about 15-20 minutes until the chocolate hardens with a slight snap.
  6. Serve: Transfer the orange slices to a serving platter and enjoy immediately or keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

Notes

Dry orange slices well before drizzling chocolate to prevent slipping. Melt chocolate in short bursts and stir frequently to avoid burning. Use good-quality chocolate for best results. Refrigerate promptly to set chocolate with a satisfying snap. Add a tiny splash of neutral oil if chocolate seizes.
