A quick and easy air fryer recipe that delivers crispy skin salmon with tender asparagus, seasoned with bright lemon pepper for a fresh and satisfying weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 skin-on salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 2 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large lemon, zested and juiced
  • 1 bunch asparagus (about 1 pound), trimmed
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. Rub each fillet with 1 tablespoon olive oil, then sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning and a pinch of garlic powder evenly over the flesh and skin sides.
  3. Let salmon sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes to absorb flavors.
  4. Trim the woody ends off the asparagus (about 1 to 2 inches).
  5. Toss asparagus in the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil, a pinch of salt, 1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning, and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Set aside.
  6. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  7. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between each piece.
  8. Cook salmon for 7-9 minutes depending on thickness.
  9. After 5 minutes of cooking salmon, add the asparagus to the basket around the fillets or on a separate layer if your air fryer has a rack.
  10. Continue cooking for the remaining time until salmon flakes easily and asparagus is tender-crisp with slightly charred tips.
  11. Check doneness with a fork and cook an additional 1-2 minutes if needed, avoiding overcooking.
  12. Remove salmon and asparagus from the air fryer, drizzle with fresh lemon juice, garnish with lemon zest or extra cracked pepper if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

Pat salmon dry to ensure crispy skin. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to avoid soggy skin. Preheat air fryer for best results. Cooking times may vary based on fillet thickness and air fryer model. Use skin-on fillets for best texture. Optional red pepper flakes add heat. Leftovers can be stored up to 2 days and reheated in air fryer to maintain crispiness.
