A quick and easy side dish featuring tender yet crispy carrots coated in a sticky honey garlic glaze, made effortlessly in the air fryer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound (450g) carrots, peeled and cut into sticks or rounds
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) soy sauce (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon (3g) salt
  • ¼ teaspoon (1g) freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional garnish: chopped fresh parsley or sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut 1 pound (450g) of carrots into uniform sticks or rounds, about ¼ inch (6 mm) thick.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil, 2 tablespoons (30 ml) honey, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon (5 ml) soy sauce (optional), ½ teaspoon (3g) salt, and ¼ teaspoon (1g) freshly ground black pepper. Whisk until well combined.
  3. Add the carrots to the bowl and toss thoroughly until every piece is coated in the honey garlic mixture.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
  5. Arrange the glazed carrots in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 7 minutes, then shake the basket or toss carrots gently. Continue air frying for another 7-8 minutes or until carrots are tender inside and crispy on the edges.
  6. Transfer carrots to a serving dish, drizzle any leftover glaze over them, and sprinkle with fresh parsley or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crispiness. Preheat the air fryer for best results. Watch the glaze closely to prevent burning; reduce temperature to 375°F if needed. Toss carrots halfway through cooking for even browning. Reheat leftovers in the air fryer to maintain crispiness.
