A quick and easy creamy pumpkin spice latte made with real pumpkin puree, warm spices, and frothy milk, perfect for cozy fall mornings and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) freshly brewed espresso or strong coffee (medium-dark roast recommended)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk or favorite alternative (oat milk recommended for creaminess)
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (maple syrup as a substitute)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves)
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon (for garnish)
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Brew 1 cup (240 ml) of strong coffee or espresso and keep warm.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup (240 ml) milk, 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  3. Warm the mixture over medium heat, whisking frequently, until hot but not boiling (about 3-5 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat and froth the milk mixture using a handheld frother, whisk, shaking in a jar, or French press until creamy and foamy.
  5. Pour the hot coffee into a mug, then gently add the frothy pumpkin milk, holding back foam with a spoon and spooning it on top last.
  6. Garnish with a pinch of ground cinnamon and a swirl of whipped cream if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling. Avoid overheating milk to preserve spice aroma. Froth milk vigorously if no frother is available. Prepare milk mixture fresh and serve immediately for best texture and flavor. Leftover pumpkin milk mixture can be refrigerated up to 2 days and reheated gently before frothing again.
